The Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry is an annual literary award presented by the African Poetry Book Fund in collaboration with Prairie Schooner.

Open to any book of original poetry, in English, published by an African writer during the previous calendar year.
Restrictions: Only poetry submissions in English can be considered, and self-published books and those published by the APBF and its African Poetry Series are ineligible.
Deadline
Manuscripts are accepted annually between May 1st and October 1st. Submissions must be postmarked within this timeframe.
Award
- The award is USD $1,000.
- In addition to the monetary prize, winning the award provides significant recognition for the outstanding contribution to African poetry.
Entry fee
There is no entry fee required to submit to the Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry.
