About Bedford 2021 Poetry Writing Competition
There are two competitions:
- Short Story Competition
- The Short Story Competition is for original, unpublished stories on any theme up to 3,000 words.
- Stories must be written in English.
- Poetry Competition
- The Poetry Competition is for original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines on any theme.
- Poems must be written in English.
Who can participate
The competition is open globally to anyone aged 17 years and over.
Awards/Prizes
- Short Story Competition
- 1st prize: £1,000
- 2nd prize: £200
- 3rd prize: £100
- Poetry Competition
- 1st prize: £1,000
- 2nd prize: £200
- 3rd prize: £100
Deadline
Application deadline for The Bedford Competition is 31-Oct-2021.
Entry fee
Paid entry. The standard entry fee is £7.50 per story or poem. If you enter three at a time, it will be £15. Students are charged at the reduced rate of £5 per story or poem or £10 for three at the same time.
